For food the term "organic" is stricly regulated. This is, however, not the case for clothing and textiles. Terms such as "organic" and "natural" are not protected and, therefore, frequently misused. Without the right type of independant certification, it is quite impossible to tell whether the entire product or just a single part of the production chain is organic. We therefore rely on GOTS certified materials and suppliers.

GOTS
We only work with Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certified materials and suppliers. GOTS is the leading processing standard for organic fibres and recognises that the product is sourced, processed and manufactured sustainably from start to finish.
To you, choosing a GOTS certified product means that it is (1) made from certified organic fibers, (2) free from potentially harmful chemicals, (3) produced in safe, socially compliant and fair working conditions, (4) kind to the environment and (5) doesn’t produce unnecessary waste.
Better Properties
Less Plastic
We choose natural materials for their unrivaled beauty, superior quality and recyclability. Our fabrics, yarns and the majority of our trims are 100 % plastic-free. We only use synthetics when a natural option was not available for our production quantities. This is indicated under "material & care" on each product page. As we grow our company and in active exchange with our producers, we are working on eliminating these last synthetics.
Circularity
Return to Earth
At the end of their life-cycle silk, cotton and wool can be returned to us. These natural materials – without hidden synthetics – are easier to recycle, totally biodegradable and can eventually be returned to the earth.

Cotton
Properties
Cotton is loved by many – including us – for its gentleness to the skin, breathability and durability. Therefore, the natural material is particularly suited for care-free allrounder pieces to wear throughout all seasons.
Before Use
We only work with organic cotton because – compared to regular cotton – it requires fewer (water) resources and refrains from the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides. To ensure that our products are actually organic and produced in fair and socially compliant working conditions, we source our cotton products from a GOTS certified manufacturer.
After Use
Mechanical recycling techniques are suitable for cotton, which can be sorted by color, returned to the raw fiber state and re-spun to produce a new quality of yarn.
Wool
Properties
The knitted wool sweater is a true classic. Naturally stain/odor repellent and resistant to wrinkles, it is a great material for your go-tos. With proper care, a wool garment is extremely durable and can bring joy for you many years. Wool has natural insulating properties, making it ideal for colder days.
Before Use
Wool is a natural fibre growing year-round on sheep. Since sheep produce a completely new fleece every year, it is an entierly renewable fibre. Plus, our wool garments are GOTS certified and therefore meet strict environmental and social criteria along the entire production chain.
After Use
The mechanical recycling process works great on wool knitwear and dates back to the Middle Ages. By breaking the yarn of an old wool garment down to its long fiber strands, it can be twisted into new yarn for new knitwear.
Silk
Properties
Ever since Antiquity, silk has been surrounded by the glamour of a fabric associated with luxury. This rightfully so: It is a soft and delicate fabric with beautiful drape and natural sheen. Authentic silk takes colors well, is thermoregulating and feels light on the skin during all seasons.
Before Use
To assure that our products are not only rich in color and beautiful to the touch but come with their own intrinsic value, we work with GOTS certified 100 % organic silk.
After Use
A bit more tricky than cotton and wool, pure silk can be sorted by color and mechanically processed into small flakes. These flakes can be added to new material to give the yarn a unique, speckled appearance.
Other Materials?
State of Research & Technology
In recent years there have been many advancements in textile recycling research. Other natural materials, such as linen and hemp, are currently being studied to see whether they are suitable for mechanical and chemical recycling processes. However, in 2022, these developments remain very marginal. We love these materials for many of their properties but have not yet found proof for viable recycling solutions in order to integrate them into our material portfolio.
Continuous Progress
Our journey to creating clothing and accessories that truly stand the test of time – throughout multiple lives – is just getting started. We have been inspired by the things we have learned and motivated by the progress we have – and will continue – to make. Therefore, we are continuously striving to educate ourselves further, improve and integrate new developments.
